Alexis Vergalla is a visual artist and poet based in Seattle and currently working on a year long self-portrait series with her identical twin sister in NYC
"Illuminated body, light enters, but is quenched. Still it enters. There is no such thing as perfect transparency. I read in the news—men have made dark matter, folded microscopically. perfect opacity [but I also read, there is no such etc etc]. Always, the whistling teapot on my stove. String of Christmas lights clanking against glass. Nothing changes but the angle of shadows on the counter."
